The Strand Theatre replaced the original "The Star" Theatre in 1919 at 901 Central Avenue intersecting with 9th Street. The Strand theatre had shown silent films throughout its long standing years and had an ornate pleasing interior and a red carpet entrance.
It was said that the building resembled that of a palace. The theater closed in April of 1977. North Star Trophies a local family owned business now occupies the building. |
